Brown Owls is a world wide craft group that was started in 2008 as a way to meet nice people and to learn stuff together and share skills.
To quote Brown Owls founder Pip,
You don't have to have ANY crafty skills to be a Brown Owl.
You just need to be a nice person who wants to have a go.
The Canberra Brown Owls chapter has been meeting since 2009, and since then we've learned loads of crafty things from each other and made some wonderful friends (and consumed lots of tea, biscuits & cake together!)
About our meetings
Our meetings are monthly and are very casual affairs - some times we have a workshop or demonstration, other times everyone just brings along what they are working on. And of course there is always loads of chatter, tea, coffee, biscuits and cake to enjoy!
The meeting details are published on this blog and the Brown Owls members blog shortly before each meeting. These will let you know if we have something special planned, and give you somewhere to let us know you're coming.
But I don't live in Canberra =(
Don't worry! There are loads of Brown Owls groups all across Australia, and even some overseas!
Pop over to the Brown Owls members blog to see if there's a group near you.
And if not, why not start your own? Head over here for some more information.
Please get in touch if you have any questions, and we hope to see you at one of our meetings soon!
